Favorite landscape locations

At this time of year, I like to hike in Killarney on the north shore of the Georgian Bay. We try to make the trip every autumn to enjoy the fall colours. Newfoundland is on of my all time favourite places for landscape photography. Hoping to get out there next summer.

Wherever I am located. Many years ago I thought you'd have to travel to take cool landscape images. Then I met Jim Brandenburg who takes amazing photographs from "flat and boring" Minnesota. Now I simply enjoy being outside, having a good time, and taking pictures.
Though I have to admit: Utah and Iceland are hard to beat.

Here's a shot from the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, just above Denver, Colorado:

I'm usually there for the wildlife, but it's a great place for one of the best examples of American long-grass prairie, here at the beginning of The Great Plain. Of course, the Rocky Mountains in the background and mule deer bucks in the FG doesn't hurt.

Stuck is the word, or enlightened when I think of all the time I've spent in Northern Ca. I say stuck because I can't get enough of the meeting of land and sea in the places of Point Lobos, Point Reyes National Seashore and the Northern Coast in general. I have found that going back there repeatedly, is a way to see how to study light and how it works best within the particular subject matter. Of course the scale on that point slides, but it amazes me how the variances of light affect the form of known objects. It is now quite obvious to me that a trip to Ireland, Scotland, England is a must as the essence of what I'm looking for is in great abundance across the pond in that region.

"Mountains and rivers from quiet roads in the area between central and southern France": Haute Ubaye (http://www.photo.net/photo/18284462), Haute Tinée (http://www.photo.net/photo/18080369), Queyras (http://www.photo.net/photo/17450642&size=lg); very much underdeveloped by French standards
"Arrondissements 1 to 6, Paris": Luxembourg garden (http://www.photo.net/photo/17820456). Good for street photography, plenty of parisian aborigenes, and a lot of american students.
