maria_luisa_pablo
I need advise on what are the best lens and flash for a fashion runway photography shoot for a Nikon D80/D100/D2xs? Also, are there any great books out there on tips, etc. Thank you for your time. Kindest regards, Maria
al_kaplan1
I use a Vivitar 283 set on manual so the flash isn't fooled by the varying expanse of dark background you'll get as the model walks toward you. Assuming that you'll be stationed by the side of the runway a prime in the 35 to 50mm range should cover you. Focus on a point 10 or 12 feet away and get off a quick shot or two when the model gets there.
stephen dohring
An 80-200 2.8VR is a top choice for fashion shots. The 17-55DX is great if you are really close. I would go with a Nikon SB800 for TTL. The technology is fantastic with ttl why complicate things with manual guide numbers etc. focus on the compostion. Getting the model on the right step with the right look in her eye is hard enough.
