Eyepiece for Nikomat FTn?

<p>Hi everyone. I just got this classic body, but it has no eyepiece or eyecup. Which Nikon fits? Is it the same one of the FM3A and F3, or the larger like the F3HP and F100, or something different altogether?</p>

<p>The eyepiece for the F3 (standard-eyepoint) perfectly fits on the Nikomat FTn, and you can still purchase it new! If you want to use the accesorry shoe with the mat, it's a bit tight to screw in, but it still fits. If you want to use the eyecup to shield your view, the DK-4 lubber eyecup fits on the F3 eyepiece. (DK-4 is already discontinued and rather rare, though)</p>

<p>As Lunomi says. I just bought another one for my Nikon F2- it's the F3 cover.</p>

<p>If you want to be historically accurate, the older eyepiece had a metal milled edge, absolutely guaranteed to scratch your eyeglasses. There must be a million of these in the same place where the other sock went.</p>

<p>The new F3 one has a rubber edge to avoid the problem</p>

<p>A coloured key indentifier plastic ring is a nice slip fit over theat milled edge, so you can have a neon yellow glasses protector ring. :)</p>

 

<p>Congrats on the FTn! I got a mint one thi summer with original 50mm F/2 lens. It's a beautiful camera from the heydey of the Machine Age.</p>

<p>That'd be Nikon USA part # 2923. The one for the FM3a is their 2925.</p>
