Exposure and Developing Recommendations

What is the aperture of a Brownie Hawkeye? I've seen f14, f16, and f22 listed by different users. I was thinking about loading Ilford Delta 100 and assuming f16 at 1/50 second in full sun. This would mean at El 50 in Ilford Infosol S a development time of 6 1/2 minutes. Any recommendaions for exposure and developin that you have had success with would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't used a Hawkeye specifically, but all of these old single-speed cameras are designed to give an "adequate" exposure on a sunny day with 100asa film or thereabouts. My recommendation would be to use some of the new-style chromogenic b&w. This will give a very printable negative from 50asa to 3200asa on the same roll with standard C41 development !! If you want/need to use conventional 100asa film, rate it as normal then keep the sun over your shoulder between two hours after sunrise until two hours before sunset. Light overcast or partial cloud shouldn't be a problem with modern emulsions.
