andreatau
Hello folks Yesterday I was given a few 120 rolls of Kodak Tri-X Pan 320 which I didn't know before. According to the Kodak website, it should be possible to expose it at 800 with no evident problems and even at 1250 or 1600 accepting some loss in shadow detail. Fine. Now the dark room... I'm a beginner and so far have only developed FP4+, HP5+ and SFX 200 in Ilfosol S. I also have a new bottle of Ornano Fino ST 33 that should give very good results with higher sensitivity films. However I can't find any info on processing such film in either of my developers (only this http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=005nFc). Has anyone pushed it by one or two stops and developed with ST 33? Any other tip, such as devel. times, greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot Andrea
stephen hazelton
Since no one jumps in with an answer, I'll offer my suggestion. Use the times for Tri-X 400 as a starting point (see www.digitaltruth.com, which lists Tri-X 400 with Ilfosol S). Go take 12 identical photos with the same exposure, go in the darkroom and snip off several frames, develop at one time, several more for a longer time, etc. Wasting one roll of film should get you reasonably close. With D76, the times between the 320 and 400 are only a minute or two apart, and that is probably more a matter of the speed difference than the actual difference in film.
