wyn_jones1
Hi,I've just switched on my 7600 only for "maintenance req'd 0040" to appear on the LCD screen. I phoned Epson to be told that "certain parts have come to the end of their life" and it would cost ?360 to repair. Has any one got any more information about the fault and could I repair it myself? Thanks, Wyn

robert_sjoberg
You probably need a maintenance kit. It consists of new ink waste pads, a purge unit, and some other little parts. Was $360 the price with labor? If so that would be really excellent. Unless you have extensive printer repair experience I wouldn't touch it. It's hard enough getting a repair person that knows what they're doing.
elias_bonilla
1.Turn Printer Off 2. Hold ?Paper Source? + Down Arrow + ?Cut/Eject? (all at same time) 3. Turn printer on while still holding down all three buttons. 4. Release buttons when messages appear on LCD. 5. Push down button to reach ?Clear Counters? 6. Push right arrow to select Clear Counter option. 9. Push down until you get to ?Cleaner? 10. Push right to select and 11. Push ?Cut/Eject? (Enter) 12. Wait for printer to go through the needed operations. 13. Turn printer off then turn on as you normally would. Also, this error, if you have reached 5000 prints, is necessary to remind you to replace the squeegee blade. You should do so if your print heads are not being cleaned properly no matter how many prints you have done
