capocheny
Greetings... I'm using an Epson 3200 with Vuescan software.... it has worked well up until just last night. I scanned a 4x5 transparency of some bright yellow irisis against a dark black, felt, background. The leaves are all a nice dark green color. Settings: Task: Scanned to File Mode: Transparency Media: Slide Film Scan Qulaity 3200 Preview Quality Auto White Balance Scan Lamp (Blue) - On First scan.... the black felt background turned into an almost flourescent blue color. The green leaves also turned blue! :( Second scan.... no changes to the settings. But, this time, the scan came out fine! Blacks were black, greens were green, and yellows were yellow. :) Third scan... again, no changes to the setting. The scan was a repeat of the first scan. :( I used the "Guide Me" setup for ALL three scans. I'm wondering whether this could be a function of the bulb going? Or, something akin to that? I was tossing round the idea of re-loading the software after the first scan. But, then... the second scan came out perfectly. So... I'm not sure what the heck is going on. Has anyone else run into this problem? What did you do to rectify it? Thanks in advance to all responders... Cheers
alex_hollmann
Any chance that the little space on the glass that has to be left uncovered for self-calibration was covered? Covering that can produce interference and strange colours. Alex

custom film holders for fl
The calibration notch is at the top of the holder and is a 12 mm deep indentation along the top edge.
Doug
Dougs MF Film Holder for batch scanning of 120/220 medium format film with flatbeds
