epson 3170 scanner

<p>My epson 3170 scanner came with three masks/frames for negatives: 135, 120, and slides (?). I do not have an instruction manual for using these masks properly. Do I place the negatives between the mask and the glass surface (base) of the scanner, or do I place the negatives on top of the mask between the mask and the top surface (lid) of the scanner? Thanks. Bill</p>

<p>The negatives slide into slots on the holders. Three slots on 35mm, 5 negs each, and 1 slot on medium format, which reads one negative at a time behind a white mask. The slide holder is placed on the glass and slides are set in each of three holes.</p>
