david8
I'm having a bugger of a problem with a 1280... Some of my prints seem to have a very subtile banding: visible very close up, but not from normal viewing distances. No matter how many cleaning cycles, alignments, etc, I still get some perfect prints as well as prints with banding. The interesting part is that the nozzel check is fine for banded and unbanded prints. Might anyone have had this problem and happened on some solution. thanks, Dave
peza
Are you SURE there is no banding in scans on 1:1 pixel level ?
rick_falck
Turn OFF high speed printing in the custom menu! I had the problem too until I turned it off.
david8
thanks for the responses, but I wish it were so simple....... High speed is off and the scans are fine at 1:1..... ?
carl smith
If you're replaced ink cartridges and done all those things, every time this has happened to me, its been the stepper motor. It's not something you can fix yourself (unless you're really handy). You will need to get in touch with Epson if you feel its worth it. Actually, I should ask, which way are these banding lines running. Along the path of the print head, or perpendicularly? Because I've seen both, although the perpendicular banding is more rare. rich815
Make sure in the print dialog box that your print space profile is set for the 1280 (NOT for "Same as Source") and the intent is set for Perceptual as this will often cause severe banding issues.
