EOS "Sportfinder"

Does anyone know of any company that makes an attachment for the EOS

series cameras that functions much like the F1's "sportfinder." The

sportfinder for the F1 was a large prism focusing accessory for the

canon F1, It is quite beautiful and very easy to look at and focus.

 

I would be intrested in putting it on a 1V or a 3

I don't know of any, and I suspect any such device would have to be a replacement for, rather than an attachment to, the viewfinder. (Which of course is why the Nikon finders were removable in the first place).

Canon makes an Eyepiece Extender EP-EX15, but think it only fits the smaller eyepiece of the Rebel series.

Well, you would need a hacksaw to take the existing prism off the EOS, and then some duct tape or gaffers tape to stick the sprotfinder in place, but it still wouldn't give you accurate focusing or metering...

<p>The <a href="http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/canonf1n/viewfinder/viewoptical.htm">Speed Finder FN</a> looks like a useful bit of kit, but the EOS body design does not allow for such an accessory. <p>

 

I think the closest Canon offers is the <a href="http://www.eos-magazine.com/News_16_AngleFinderC.html">Angle Finder C</a>, but it probably would not work well as a sportsfinder. <p> --
