EOS 300d Firmware 2.0.0?

I got a message from Canon that they had released a FW 2.0.0 for EOS

300d? Seemed odd, since I thought that was only for 10d. Sure

enough, when I went to the firwmare site, it says that only 10d has

2.0.0 firmware, and that the current firmware for 300d is 1.1.1 (which

apparently does not contain the PictBridge upgrade that is in the 10d

firmware).

Not that I much need or care about what's in the current upgrade(s),

since I don't happen to use any of the fixed or enhanced features

mentioned, but this strikes me as sloppy on Canon's part.

Anyone know if what gets loaded into the 300d ends up as 1.1.1, or

2.0.0? All the download files and docs all say 1.1.1.

Yeah, it's difficult to get good help these days. Even if they don't steal from you, they'll manage to screw something up. I constantly get messages from another person's bank that my charge card has been compromised, and despite the fact my voicemail clearly states my name and number. I even called them up and told them they were calling the wrong number to no avail...

Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see.

Thanks for the responses. I tried the update this weekend (and thought I had posted a response to this item, but it didn't appear to 'take'), and found that it reported 1.1.1, as others have found.

I had no idea that PictBridge was already in the 300d. The various logos on the box indicated PIM, Printer-ready, etc., but I don't recall seeing 'PictBridge' as such.

Also, I haven't slogged through every last bit of the manual (I know, flog me with a wet noodle 8-), so it may be in there, somewhere.

Since I shoot most everything raw with this camera, I don't suppose that PictBridge will be of much use to me, unless the it would let me print a quick 'proof' from the embedded medium res JPEG.
