Ensign Selfix 820 Query

<p>I have just acquired a lovely Ensign Selfix 820 with Ross Xpres f3.8 lens and wish to buy a lens hood and a couple of filters for it. The lens appears to lack a threaded filter mount, and so I assume that I need push-on accessories. My problem is that I lack the means to measure accurately the diameter of the front of the lens, and so I would be most grateful if some kind soul could give me the information I need.<br /> <br /> Many thanks in anticipation.<br /> <br /> Ted.</p>

I have just measured mine and it is 41.84mm dia which is 1.65"<br>

That seems a very strange size, I guess it is nominally 41.5mm raised a little by the knurling.<br>

<p>Ted the hoods which fit my Selfix 820 are both marked "42" (Photax 42 and Actina 42). Isn't that the answer to everything, according to Douglas Adams?</p>

You and Douglas Adams seem to have got it right. 42mm pus-on seems to be the way to go!<br>
