tony_b
Hello, I have my new Elan 7E since about 1 month and I have noticed today that there is a small amount of mouvement at the film door near the latch side: when I have a film inside the camera the door "opens up" about 0.5 mm , if i press it mith my fingers it closes tightly "as it should be" and it opens again (0.5mm) when i remove my fingers. I didnt notice any problem with the photos i made. Does anybody have such a problem with the Elan7?
canon man
Yes mine does this too. Beleive it or not it gets less dust inside than alot of older ameras, and will not let light through. I would figure it standard and you get to a point where you don't notice it much after awhile.
tony_b
Daniel, you are right, I noticed the dust too and was surprised when i compare it to the Rebel 2000 I haven the door closes very tightly, as you say, i will end by not notice it any more. bob_jones12
Mine's always been like that. Definately not as solid as a 1N (duh), but I've never had a problem. . .can't live without eye controlled focusing.
asko_matti_koskelainen
Yes, my EOS 30 (the same camera outside US) is same way. It doesn´t seem to be a fault but a general build quality issue. Coming from EOS 650, it seems to me that Canon doesn´t make it´s mid-level camera bodies like they used to...
josh1
Mine does the same thing. Really annoying -- makes a popping noise when you push on it. Doesn't seem to affect anything. Guess its just sloppy tolerances on consumer camera bodies. Film door on my eos 5 is much more solid.
oliver_s.
It was the same with the EOS 50/50e/Elan II/Elan IIe, and was never a problem. And believe it or not, your wallet likes it :-)
