EF24-70 L , made in Japan or USA?

Recommended Posts

Which 24-70 L are you using?

I heard that there is a made in Japan version and a made in United

States version and maybe Taiwan as well.

I was wondering if there are any difference.

I want to get this lense badly and I have read that there are some

troubles with certain lense.

Cheers!

They're all made in Japan. However, they ship with different warranty cards depending on

country of distribution.

It would be cool if Americans would build precision optics in mass. Back in the day, I made

an 8 inch Newtonian reflector. Took me months of grinding and polishing to arrive at a

decent objective mirror. I can't really magine factories with hundreds on Americans sitting

at workstations tweaking camera optics...

Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see.
