E Mail Alerts

Recommended Posts

Whilst Brian has been going back and forth sorting out the email

alert problem, it occured to me that those who don't get email alerts

but rely on the web forum probably miss a number of posts.

Quite often there is a reply to a post that is maybe a few weeks old

(in fact it's sometimes a hard job tracking down the original post in

archive). The someone else on the email alerts replies and a little

mini thread goes on.

But anyone who was checking the forum on the web wouldn't know,

because it doesn't show up, unless you were digging through the

archives.

Just a thought - for example, continuing disussion of the ADMIN- move

thread, which is now off the front page or a few other "old thread"

responses I have noticed recently

Actually, Tim, if you check this site daily, all you need to do is click on the "New Answers" link at the top of the page. Then you'll see every response to every post that's been received over the previous 24 hours or so...

The alerts seem a bit flaky in any case - I am supposed to be getting instant alerts but they are not working. They show as enabled in my workspace. They did work, then I disabled them, then I re-enabled them but they are not coming in to my mailbox.

In fact I seem to have TWO lot of alerts for the Large Format forum - one enabled, one disabled. Looks like I managed to break it....

Ho hum....
