There seem to be a number of examples of this enlarger model appearing for sale now at quite attractive prices (if one can deal with the shipping charges).

Does anyone know which type of light source is normally installed in a Durst S45 "EM"? I take this designation to mean the enlarger was originally intended for work with an electron microscope and point source illumination was sometimes used for electron microscpe work.

As far as I know they using a bulb and it's a condenser type enlarger. It's not an everyday item and hard to find but there is a Lacolli cold light on the market to it. The cold light unit comes in two pieces and you place it into the space you have the condenser. Mostly when you see a Lacolli for sale on the market are made for the 5x7" or 13x18cm units.
