m3rdpwr
I did some quick searching, didn't find what I was looking for. I'm being required to take a trip to Dublin for a business trip. Although I'm told I wouldn't have time to take pictures, I think I'd like to try. My equipment consists of: Canon 20D (2) 580EX's 17-40L F4 50mm 1.8 85mm 1.8 70-200L F4 18-55 kit lens Epson P2000 Velbon DF 60 tripod (Nothing great) Slingpack Velocity 9 or 650AW Shoulder bag? My thought is to take the 20D (obviously), both flashes, 17-40L F4 and 50mm 1.8 being light, as well as spare batteries 1GB CF, 2GB CF, flash extension cord, tripod and my Epson P2000. I have other things such as flash brackets and accessories, but I wouldn't think they would be useful. I would think the sligpack would be the better choice. Anyone here know of anything more or less to bring such as a light stand. This may sound like a strange question, but since I've never traveled, I need a helping hand. Perhaps a good area or area's to stay away from. I'm sure I may add another question or two. Thanks all for your insight! -Mario
steve_unsworth1
You're thinking of taking far to much equipment IMHO. I'd take the camera, the 17-40 and the 50mm f1.8, batteries, cards, P2000 and leave the rest at home.
bob soltis
Mario, my vote is with Steve. Keep it simple. Take both bodies, the 17-40L and the 85 1,8. That should cover most situations you'll encounter. Happy trails!
m3rdpwr
I apolagize if if the way I typed indicated I had two 20D's, I only have one. It was two flashes that I had. I mentioned the tripod only because of outside small aperature shots may need it. Thanks again! -Mario
ben conover
Take a camera and a lens, keep it simple. Dublin is a low rise place with penty of pubs. Alchohol and over priced food is the culture. You can find interesting photos of people if you want. I saw a photography student in Dublin making a lens cap slr pinhole exposre on a road side, she was nice to talk to. Where you go and stay really depends on what you like to shoot and where you like to sleep. Cheers.
m3rdpwr
Thanks Ben, Luckily for me, my work is hopefully paying for it all. I'm thinking I can get some photo's for my class to show. But, who knows... -Mario
steve_unsworth1
50 or 85, you choose, but just take one. I'll almost guarantee that you'd take 90% of your shot's with the 17-40 and 0% with the 70-200.
