rob_pietri3
Is there any difference in proceedure between dry mounting cibachrome glossy prints vs regular c prints on 4 ply museum ragboard?
dan_smith
The first difference is that you do not want to use buffered board. The Ilfochromes (and the Ciba's if you still have print that old) are acidic. They react with the alkaline buffering in the matboards and the print life is shortened as a result. In some cases they will bleach away where the mat overlaps the print. Scotch PMA (positionable mounting adhesive) works well for dry mounting. If you want you can try a static mount which also works well. Plexiglass back and put the ilfochrome print on it & get it in position and then rub the back of the plexi fast with woolen cloth to generate static electricity... works well and lasts. No rippling or orange peel.
