mike_young1
I am new to dpp and I have some dust spots on several shots. I am using the DPP stamp tool to remove the spots. This all goes well. My question is how do I save the repaired pictures? If I press the ok button when I am done it returns me to the original spotted screen. If I "save as" it just saves the spotted shot. btw I am working on Canon raw pictures. I have gone thru the supplied help several times and I must be dense because I can not seem to follow what they are saying regarding savings the repaired image. Any detailed help will be greatly appreciated. I originally posted this in digital darkroom but got no response. tia mike

mike_young1
Ross, thank you. I see I can fix and save a jpg and a tiff but it seems not a cr2.
JohnMWright
In general, you don't want to overwrite the CR2 file anyway. It is a your original, your digital negative. The Tiff is your working file. If you make a mistake in editing, you can always go back to the original.
thierry nguyen cuu - nomad
I think there is an option to locate the dust spots, as their location on the picture, and "tell" the sensor where they are so the software, in camera, would "heal" them... I'm not sure either it is with Canon or Nikon (as I use both). You didn't mention about the (Canon) camera you're using.

morado
In the manual it states that the changes can be seen only when saved. I would say that the manual should be more especific and clear in several topic, such as this one, as it is kind of buried.
