ev
Hi, I bought a sigma F1:4.5 100mm 200mm lens for my nikon em. It also came with a Komura 2x Doubler. There both second hand. Now I cant get the doubler off the lens. I got the lens and the doubler off my camera, but after trying for hours to get this doubler off the sigma lens, Iam starting to wonder whether I jammed it on. Is it possiable thats why I cant get it off, as i cant seem to find any release buttons on either of the lens. I hope someone out there can help out, as Iam about to toss the both of them out the window. Thanks Evelyn
todd peach seattle, washi
I'm not familiar with that lens or that doubler, Ev, but I'll try to talk you through the basics. Set the camera down with the lens mount facing you (no lens). Look carefully at what happens when you push the lens release button on your EM, and where it is in relation to the 'top' of the lens mount. Now with the lens sitting on the table in front of you (lens mount facing the camera, with the 'top' of the lens facing up) look for a similar button on the converter in the same relative position. Pushing it towards the back of the converter should 'unlock' the lens, then you can twist the lens clockwise off of the converter (I have trouble with the 'twist' directions on converters, if you hold them the other way 'round it almost seems like you're doing it backwards). Good luck with this.
