rodeo_joe1
That thing's far too big to use for macro work. And why is the inside of the reflector tube covered in foil? Not only that, but how are you supposed to balance a full-sized speedlight in a hole in a plastic bowl, while also holding the camera? Cheap used ringflashes sold under the Centon and Starblitz names can be readily bought. I have two of them and they work just fine, with no foil or sticky tape involved, and no speedlight juggling required.
glen_h
I recently got an O-flash for $10, but haven't tried it yet: Amazon.com : Cowboystudio O-Ring Flash Adapter for Canon 550EX 580EX/580EX II with Canon 1DS / 1D / 1V - Model F175 : Camera & Photo it is designed to work with specific flash units, and to to fairly equalize the light around the ring. I don't have the right flash unit for it, though I might try some that I do have. -- glen
