Distortion Control Data

<p>Are others updating their Distortion Control Data?</p>

<br />I own one of the supported camera so I guess I might as well do it. I will let you know if something horrible happens.</p>

<p>It all went fine, I went from L 1.006 to L 1.009.</p>

<p>Went good for me too. At least the change from 1.006 to 1.009 went well. However, I can not see any difference with distortion control turned off and on. Everything looks the same. Maybe someone can explain how and when it works.</p>

<p>Derek, I would try a zoom lens, especially a super zoom if you have one. Capture a few test images at the widest setting of some brick wall type subject with straight lines near the edges. And I think you need to capture JPEG, not RAW.</p>

<p>Don't know what I was thinking Shun. I guess it is useless for those who shoot RAW all the time.</p>

<p>The old "don't fix what works question", reposed: I've had varying degrees of success with high quality lenses on my D800, which has had the AF left sensor fix, been fine tuned with all lenses, etc.<br /> That said the best performance of any lens I own on the D800 is the Sigma 35 f/1.4. It's been incredible, and I'm wondering if applying L1.009 might negatively affect non-Nikon/ Nikkor lenses. Anyone with that combo and the update, working fine?</p>
