Discount Digital Photographics

Hi,

 

I'm new to D-SLR and plan on buying some equipment shortly. I've

compared equipment prices and have noticed the good prices offered by

Discount Digital Photographics. I'm based in Brisbane, so they'll

have to courier the purchased items.

Can anyone please comment on their experiences with D-D Photographics?

I'd use reseller ratings to check 'em out. If they are any less than a known good source for

gear, pretend you are going to the casino and gambling with your money instead of

engaging in a transaction.

I would be very nervous about doing business with any company that doesn't list a physical address on their website.

I've done some internet research and found out DDP operates from a physical address in Sydney. They allow pick-up of goods.

 

It seems they are "grey" or parallel importers, who probably source their gear from the US. They acknowledge that Australian manufacturers will not honour warranty, and apparently take care of 1-year warranty issues through their own network of repairers. They will pay for postage on the condition that it is a manufacturer's fault.

 

They seem to be very well regarded by people who have bought from them and have an excellent Australian Ebay reputation.

 

Be interesting to know if anyone has contrary information to the above.
