jim_larson1
Hi. Does the digital rebel support E-TTL wireless flash ratios? I know that the camera supports wireless ETTL, but the manual fails to mention wireless flash ratios and also fails to mention modeling flash capability. What brings up this question? This thread: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00B1Th The flash bible http://photonotes.org/articles/eos- flash/index3.html#wirelessratios also implies that the digital rebel is not wireless ratio compatible. Is this true?
jimstrutz
This page says the the 300D/DRebel is ratio capable: http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/index.html#aandb I can confirm that the 300D/DRebel is ratio capable. I just tried it and it works. Been a long time since I messed with wireless E-TTL, but I can't seem to get the modeling feature to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I do that a lot. eosdoc
Does that answer apply with or without the firmware hack?
phil vaughan - yorkshire u
"Does that answer apply with or without the firmware hack?" It should be with and without - wireless ETTL is a feature of the flashguns, not the body, so if a body is ETTL compatible it should all work. jim_larson1
Yes, but the camera body has the ETTL ratio calculation logic. Thanks for the responses.
jimstrutz
"Does that answer apply with or without the firmware hack?" I agree that it should be the same either way, but I'm not going to restore the original firmware just to find out for sure.
