courtney_mcpherson
I am taking some pictures of a local high school boys soccer team and the baseball team and am just curious if anyone has come across or done anything different than the usual poses. Especially for the baseball guys I would love to come up with something that portrays them in an interesting way. We did a basic pose for the football pictures but I think it shows them in a way that is appropriate for a football player to look. If you want to see those they are here:
http://cjmcphersonphotography.com/?p=570
They can be a bit more posed than this is, but I would love anyone pointing me to interesting poses. Sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum for this.

daverhaas
Courtney -

I don't know how they could look more posed than those... (at least the football samples).... Seriously...

If you're looking for different and baseball - I'd do something like Score baseball cards did in the early 90's - took photos of the players with shades on and the grass / field refelcting in them... or maybe have them pose with wood bats and an old (1900) vintage glove... then do them in a sepia or duotone.

Soccer is a bit tougher - since there isn't a whole lot of equipment - besides the ball... maybe something like what you did with the FB team?

Dave
courtney_mcpherson
Yeah, I guess I should have said they can include a bit more than just a headshot the way those were. I hadnt even thought of looking through the thousands of baseball cards my husband has. Thanks for that!
e_f3
I like to look at old baseball cards. Those make-shift mall vendors have some good ones. Looking at old sports portraits and group pictures is interesting too.
