john_wilson10
A friend of mine gave me some old film, including a roll of HP5+ in a black and green canister. It didn't come with the box. So, I shot that roll at 800 and I have a roll of new HP5+ that I shot at 800. Can I process them at the same time? I mean, is there a difference in the dev times -- is the older canister an older formulation that needs to spend more or less time in the developer? I'll be developing it in DD-X if that helps. Thanks!
john_wilson10
Boy do I feel stupid. I got the title wrong, I think the older stuff is in the green and black canister. That's what I get for posting with a wiggling toddler on my lap.
jon_shiu
Hi, develop them both the same. Ilford only changed the caps recently to save money. Jon
rodeo_joe1
A different corporate style came in when Ilford was taken over by Harman. AFAIK, the film remains exactly the same, regardless of the colour and font used on the cassette. Really old HP5 without the Plus suffix would be a different matter.
