preston_harper
This past week I shot a wrestling match in a gym as dark as a cave. There was no way to get any type of shot without using a flash, which created a shadow. Looking at the attached photo, can anyone suggest an easy way to get rid of the shadow, without losingthe integrity of the photo. Matt Laur
Open the file in your editing software, reduce the size to 511 pixels on the longest side, and save AS a new file. Then upload. Include a caption, or it won't display except as a link. As for shadows... get the strobe off camera. Using a bracket and cable, or a remote. Once the flash is away from the axis of the camera and lens, you'll have less trouble that way.
mark u
Use bounce flash where feasible (even if you have to shoot at a higher ISO to make it work). If shooting with direct flash on a bracket, you need a bracket that places the flash well above the lens axis regardless of the orientation of the camera so the shadow falls behind the subject - lots of advice on these in the Wedding forum. Probably best is mounting 2-3 strobes higher up and using a radio trigger.
