nicole_shore
Hello Everyone, I'm looking to move to Washington D.C. and was wondering if anyone knew about public darkrooms in the area? I would prefer a place where you could exchange volunteer time for free usage hours. Also, has anyone on here sold their work at craft shows in that area? I am wondering if it is a worthwhile thing to pursue. Many thanks for any thoughts. Best regards, Nicole photolight (at) aol (dot) com
tom_s.
<P>Check out the <B><A HREF="http://www.glenechophotoworks.org/about.htm">PhotoWorks Studio</A></B> at <B><A HREF="http://www.glenechopark.org/">Glen Echo Park</A></B> in Glen Echo, Maryland. It's one of the last exits in Maryland before Virginia when going counterclockwise on the Beltway. (I always forget which way is the Inner Loop, and which was is the Outer Loop.) Yes, it's in a public park (with a carousel), but Glen Echo Park is not your typical park! Do check it out.</P> <P>Since I don't live in the area, I haven't used their facilities personally. I seem to end up at the Park once or twice a year anyway, and my friends in the area have a good opinion of them. (though, I don't know if they've used their facilities personally... I never asked)</P>
