Have been away for a while, so not sure if this has been brought up in

here before : someone in Taiwan has some success in triming a <a

K2</a> or <a href="http://home.pchome.com.tw/club/vensonlu/D70/index.htm

">K3</a> screen to fit a D70, and apparently it works. The catch is

that the center of the screen is located closer to the top rather than

at the geometric center.

As far as I read, either the K2 or K3 screen is significantly brighter

than the origninal, so please dial in EV compensation. Good news to

those who find the electronic focus indicator hard to use with mf

Nikkors. I don't think many of us are aware that the D70 screen is

user replaceable. D100 users may also be interested to check if it can

be modified in similar ways. It's not brain surgery, but make sure yor

do master some hand-crafting technique before popping open your D70

and go on snapping a piece of new screen :) And no, this modification

doesn't switch on the meter for mf Nikkors ...

helpful in this case, so I will try to translate both links to

something comprehensible when time allows. Meantime appreciate any

input from other Chinese savvy readers.
