roland_larson
Have been away for a while, so not sure if this has been brought up inhere before : someone in Taiwan has some success in triming a <ahref="http://groups.msn.com/4500/page11.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=4471&LastModified=4675505286925033399">K2 or K3 screen to fit a D70, and apparently it works. The catch isthat the center of the screen is located closer to the top rather thanat the geometric center.
As far as I read, either the K2 or K3 screen is significantly brighterthan the origninal, so please dial in EV compensation. Good news tothose who find the electronic focus indicator hard to use with mfNikkors. I don't think many of us are aware that the D70 screen isuser replaceable. D100 users may also be interested to check if it canbe modified in similar ways. It's not brain surgery, but make sure yordo master some hand-crafting technique before popping open your D70and go on snapping a piece of new screen :) And no, this modificationdoesn't switch on the meter for mf Nikkors ...
Babelfish isn't toohelpful in this case, so I will try to translate both links tosomething comprehensible when time allows. Meantime appreciate anyinput from other Chinese savvy readers.

vivek iyer
Roland, I am not going to touch my D70 until the warranty expires (soon) or new ones hit even lesser prices. At the moment, it stays as is. Sorry! Vivek.
