D3100 flash problem

<p>I cannot get it to fire when its flash is up or the SD600 is mounted and on.<br>

Is there something in the menu or is it broken? <br>

Same thing in all modes. Except for no flash when the shutter fires but no flash. </p>

<p>You might wish to add a little more information. If you put the on-camera speedlight up, and have the camera in 'S' mode, with a shutter speed of 1/15 second...and with a memory card in the camera (and a lens on--with it focused on something) ... the flash should pop. ISO at 200 or 400 for a start, too.</p>

<p>If the speedlight does not fire, you may have to send your D3100 in for a check-up under the warranty.</p>

It does not matter which mode. If the flash is up or one is mounted and on, the camera will not shoot.<br>

Other than that the camera works fine.<br>

I think I need to take it in. </p>
