williamting
I know the earlier production D200's had banding problems but I was under the impression that it was resolved early on.

Today I took the picture below (full size: jpg , nef ) and noticed a possible banding issue on the girl's calf. I bought the D200 2 months ago from BestBuy and will be travelling to Hawaii in 3 weeks, and shooting a wedding in 5. Should I contact Nikon support regarding this issue? Or should I wait until I don't need my camera (I have no backup) before sending it in?

liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
I think that's her stockings - the shots from the D200 with banding I saw about 3 years ago didn't look anything like this.
Lil :-)
lex_jenkins
Looks like moire, probably due to an interference pattern between the stockings and sensor. Same thing can happen with any sensor, given just the right (or wrong) conditions.

The banding examples I've seen for the D200 (and my own D2H at ISO 3200 and 6400) are uniform across the entire photo, not limited to just a segment.

ShunCheung
The D200's banding is due to a read-out issue from neighboring pixel columns. Therefore, it has to be vertical straight lines in the frame. Unless you have rotated your image, the D200's banding cannot be diagonal lines as in the case of H. Ting's sample.

rob_c3
From a human physiological pt of view, it looks like that woman is an olympic weight lifter, and thats just her vein, popping up from her oversized calf muscle.
