D1X error "Cr" in the viewfinder

<p>camera was working fine, then during a break in the shoot...<br>

the "card" icon on the main LCD is blinking.<br>

camera will not fire shutter or DOF preview.<br>

i get a "Cr" in the frame counter in the viewfinder.<br>

i remove the Cf card and the camera will fire and DOF will operate.<br>

i tried several known good CF cards, Lenses and batteries.<br>

cards are FAT formatted from my computer and i formatted them in the camera.</p>

<p>any thoughts to what my problem is?</p>

<p>Douglas, are you pointing out that you D1X is showing the same error with several known to be good CF cards?</p>

<p>I would remove the memory card and shine a flashlight into the CF card compartment to make sure that none of the pins is bent. However, if the camera suddenly acted up while a card has been inside, it seems unlikely that a pin would get bent all of a sudden.</p>

<p>Make sure the aperture ring on your lens is locked at f/22 ? or "auto" I believe this is culprit. </p>

<p>That would display "Fee" as the error code.</p>

<p>I had that exact problem on my D1H caused by a bad battery. I see you tried other batteries, are you sure they're good?</p>

well i have the camera working now, i was just trying anything.<br>

after messing with the numbering sequence and frames captured in the "c" mode, it works.<br>

i will try and replicate the problem later this evening. </p>
