katydid
I have a D1OO that I use to shoot weddings with. I usually use it in shutter or manuel mode. I have found that when I use it in Program mode it will drop the shutter speed below 1/6oth without giving me any warning. Hard to trust it if I don't want blurry pictures. Is there anyway set the camera so it won't drop below 1/60th of a second in Program?
michael_madio
It's doing that because it is trying to give you a correct exposure and in Program mode, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to. There is not enough light. Increase the ISO, use a faster lens, or use a flash. For event photography, I find it most consistent (read no surprises) to use manual mode and the integrated meter as a guide.

katydid
Thanks. I don't use program to shoot almost anything but my friend uses her program mode a lot and hers will not drop below 1/60. I think it just won't take the pictures unless the flash is up. I guess mine is a little more hands on then hers is.
jc5066
Buy a P&S that has auto ISO and does all the thinking for you. Are you getting paid to shoot weddings? I hope not.
