CS4 /R1900 Prints blank space white

Recommended Posts

<p>Ray, it sounds like you are printing glossy with glop. It's not printing white but it is printing glop over the entire sheet, outside of an expensive RIP I don't think there is a way to prevent it. Remember, Epson is in the business of selling you cartridges, they practically give you the printer. Best bet is cut down the paper closer to the print size and enter that size in as a custom size.</p>

<p>Uh, all the inks in an R1900 are colored. If you see white, it's not being printed. Perhaps you mean the print head moves and the paper advances little each pass of the head, even though nothing is printing. If you can use roll paper, you could use 8-1/3rd inch paper and set the length to anything you wish (then try to remove the curl). The smallest suitable cut size would be 11x14 - still some waste (and time) but not nearly as much as with B+ paper.</p>

<p>Glad Epson sorted it for you Ray. These are the options for gloss paper on my R1800 Windows driver:</p>

<a name="S-00300-01100"></a> <strong>Gloss</strong>

Select how to print using the gloss optimizer ink. Selecting Gloss enables you to improve the print quality when printing on plain or photo paper. You can select the following modes.

<table border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="90%">

<tbody>

<tr>

<td width="14%" valign="top"><!-- Table Text-->

Auto

</td>

<td width="85%" valign="top"><!-- Table Text-->

Prints using the gloss optimizer ink on image data only.

</td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td width="14%" valign="top"><!-- Table Text-->

Full

</td>

<td width="85%" valign="top"><!-- Table Text-->

Prints using the gloss optimizer ink on full-page within the printable area.

</td>

</tr>

</tbody>

</table>
