scrivyscriv
I was trying to use the eraser brush and it wouldn't erase... anything. Anywhere. On any image I've tried it on. I think everything but the brushes is working. I can't use any brush functions - erase, blur, heal, paint, etc.

Help?

.. this is why I get so frustrated with photoshop.
rffffffff
opacity or flow set to 0?

there is a way to reset photoshop to all the defaults.. I think you have to hold ctrl when it is opening. If not, try shift or alt. It should fix the problem.
scrivyscriv
Opacity, flow, and hardness all maxed out at 100.

Tried using ctrl alt and shift - no change.

I have CS2, CS3, and elements 8... They are all doing the same thing. The actions are showing up in the history, but the effects aren't showing up on the images.
scrivyscriv
Sorry, I'm an idiot. I left my wireless mouse on top of the bamboo pad and forgot about it while I was using the wired mouse and it kept me from using the brushes... somehow...

rffffffff
Thats strange... if I leave my pen on the tablet it prevents the mouse from moving, but I usually figure out why kinda quickly... if it were just the brushes it might make me nuts for a week too!
Glad its fixed!
mike_stemberg
Just curious, but does that mean that you had the wireless mouse, the wired mouse AND your Bamboo pad connected to the machine all the same time? Or perhaps, it was just the two mice?!
rffffffff
I am not the original poster, but I currently have a wireless mouse, wired mouse and tablet connected... My wife prefers the wired mouse and I grab the wireless one when I sit down... it works fine!
scrivyscriv
Yeah the Bamboo comes with its own wireless mouse. You have to use it on the pad itself though.
