w_t1
Has anyone used a Coolpix 950 (or similar) with a series of step up rings on the 28mm threaded lens? For instance, I may try the 28-37 step-up ring with a 37-58 step-up ring on top in order to try some infrared with my existing hoya 58mm filter (and polarizer also). I know B+W makes a 37mm, but don't really want to spend the $60 for it. I've searched here and the "digital infrared" at yahoo groups, but couldnt find any specifics regarding vignetting. If you've used a setup similar to this, would appreciate your thoughts re vignetting or not at the wide end. My simple hand sketching says "no"
stank
I have used a 28-37 and 37-58 stacked with a normal thickness polarizer on my Coolpix 4500 and never had a problem with vignetting. I might add that the 28-37 is rather thick in the center. I think I paid about $7 each for the plastic step rings. Stan
w_t1
Stan, thanks. Since I posted this, I've found a 28mm 89B filter at Harrison, which will enable me to shoot with the fisheye and wide angle also.
