mark_david
I live in a remote area where there are no photography courses available, and I work full time, so travelling to one is out of the question. I have heard of photography courses out there that are by correspondance. Apparently one would send in their weekly assignments somewhere, and get them critiqued, or graded. Anyway, if anyone could help with something along these lines, particularly in Canada, I would appreciate it. More for the technical side of things, rather than the creative, but a mix of both would be ideal. Thank you. Mark
james phillips
Hello Mark, About a year ago I was asking the same thing on the net. I also was trying to encourage a seasoned retired pro I know (via the net) to take on a project like this. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful. Here is a site that may offer some help. http://usefilm.com/ Best of light,
continuity
New York Institute of Photography - www.nyip.com The material may seem dated (lots of photos from the 70s), but the basics of photography haven't changed that much. They do refresh the content every few years to keep up with equipment developments. IMHO, they show you everything, from a technical and creative perspective. Of course, practicing the techniques they teach you is where you actually learn the content. Just my $0.02. The course has improved my photography considerably.
