blake_abbott
I need to get a strap for my Hasselblad and am looking at the Hasselbald contour strap or the Optech Super Pro strap with the "A" connectors. Any thoughts on these two straps or can you suggest a good alternative?
jay_.
I've got both strap types. There's no comparison, the Op-TECH Super Pro strap is head and shoulders better. It gives as the camera bounces, the Hassy strap transfers all the shock to your neck.
blake_abbott
Thanks, Jay. I'm going to Vermont and Boston in a couple of weeks and want to carry the camera and it looked like the optech would be a good choice.
johnmarkpainter
The Hassy strap is fine for Studio use (I shoot handheld and like the strap for safety). Any shock with a bit of give to it would be an improvement for carry. jmp
Robin Smith
Personally my favorite is the Hasselblad leather strap (molto $$$) - to me nicer than any non-slip strap. Mind you I hate "non-slip" straps. Robin Smith
simonpg
I just purchased a Hassy 1.5" strap - made of synthetics, very tough, nice and wide and non-slip. I got it in mint condition cheap on the KEH site.
thomas_sullivan
I have the Optech super pro strap (dif connectors) for my Mamiya C220 (prob heavier than a Hassy) and it is much, much more than just a non-slip strap. What ever that little arrangement they have on the strap up around the neck area is, it manages to take almost all the weight from the back of your neck. A pleasure compared to any other strap I've had on the 220 and my aching neck (past tense now)
