Contina Ramblings

While vacationing this month, I kept the Zeiss Contina close at hand,

knowing that results would be worth the camera's 19 oz. weight. The

45mm/2.8 Tessar did very well, just as it did during my previous post

in May. Film is Fujicolor 100.<div></div>

Blacksburg, Virginia has a neighborhood full of beautiful old houses near the Virginia Tech campus.<div></div>

Dennis, I have a broken Contina with a Pantar lens. I learned photography with it. I love your photos from Blacksburg. They bring back fond memories. I went to graduate school there. What a beautiful town with great photography potential around it.

My late uncle was a professor at Tech and voted favorite for seven years in a row by the students. We all miss him and also Blacksburg.

I agree with Benjamin with his assessment of the 45mm Tesaar lens on the Contessa. It can provide beautiful images.

I really like the lighting effect in House#1--very nice indeed.

Maybe this is the place to get an answer to a question I've been wondering about. I have a Contina III with a 2.8/45 mm Pantar lens. I shot off a roll on my summer vacation, and the pictures came out very nice and colourful (so did the roll from my Praktica Super TL and Kodak Signet 35). I've always wondered what the difference was between the Pantar and the Tessar. I'm considering trying out a Tessar front element from an early Contaflex. The photos you put up are very nice.
