robert loop
I have seen on the net that contax for a period produced a RX which can help for defining right focus but than changed the RX called RX II without this help fo focus...Is it possible to see the difference between RX and RXII looking at the camera ? By serial numbers ??Does somebody know ??Thanks Robert
marbing
I think that the removal of the Digital Focus Indicator (DFI) in the RXII is the only difference. The bodies remain essentially identical. One benefit with the RXII is that the viewfinder is brighter because no light has to be diverted to the DFI as on the RX.
robert loop
Dear Miss Arbing, do you prefer RX II ?
marbing
I have the original RX and prefer the Digital Focus Indicator. It makes focusing macro shots quite easy as you can see the focus point as you move the microadjusting plate back and forth.
peter_gilbert3
I was not aware that Kyocera marketed the RX -II outside of Japan. I had always thought the RX-II was an attempt to offer a cheaper camera body. The only one I ever saw was at BIC camera in Tokyo.
robert loop
I already had an Aria.Today I found an RX on e bay for 320 euros. It will join the different lenses: 45 mm 2,8, 50 mm 1,7, 85 mm1,7 135 mm 2,8 and mutat II. Apart from SLR I own contax IIa, IIIa and Kiev IV. I shoot with all of them. With digital I tend to shoot without thinking a bit "parress", lazy ? I prefer to use different films than playing on photoshop...
