s_u
I recently bought a mint condition model Pradolux RT-300 (the one that accepts the Carousel trays) and a 90mm Leica Colorplan f/2.5 Curved Field lens. The curved field lens works beautifully with my older, cardboard-mounted slides, but on my flatter, plastic-mounted ones, tends to blur at the edges. Does anyone know if there is a Leica Colorplan flat field lens that would work with this projector? Also (and I think I ought to know the answer to this one), will my Kodak Ektapro Select lens (which I use w/my Ektagraphic) fit this machine? Thanks, S. Usary. Rob F.
I had an email conversation with someone who was selling an RT-300, and was told that the lenses are interchangeable with Ektagraphic/Carousel ones. The Leica lenses have been made in more than one diameter and style, so of course they are not all interchangeable. I do have a 90mm Colorplan which I use in an Ektagraphic by means of a Leica-supplied adapter. It is too small to fit into the Kodak machine directly. Then I have an old Colorplan in a metal barrel, that works in a Prodovit Color; but won't fit an Ektagraphic. The Leica catalog does list flat field lenses for the current RT-s and RT-m models. I guess (but don't know) that these models take the same lenses as the RT-300. I take it you haven't received your new projector yet, or you would already know the answer. Why don't you do a followup post when you receive it. I'd like to know for sure.
