brien_szabo
I've been thinking about picking up a closeup lens/ring/filter kit for my Minolta macro lenses. Since I don't think Minolta makes them, does anyone have experience with the Nikon or Canon kits and how do they compare?
michael_hohner
Minolta does make closeup diopters in various strengths and diameters. They don't make extension tubes. Kenko is a good alternative, here.
craig_bridge
The Nikkor 3T/4T in 52mm and 5T/6T in 62mm are much lower priced (probably because of a higher production volume) than the Canon 250D/500D which come in a wide variety of filter sizes are all are as good a twin/dual element diopter as you can buy. theorist
Minolta does make high quality closeup lenses. B&H sells them, and you can often find them on eBay, as well. At one point I considered purchasing Nikon's, but my Minolta lenses all have 49mm and 55mm thread sizes, and Nikon doesn't make those sizes. Step-up rings are an option, but an annoying one.
