gene_e._mccluney
Hello I have a Microtek Artixscan 2500f, a very expensive flatbed scanner I have had for years. I am getting some artifacts (lines) in my scans of 8x10 negs that after much trial and error regarding the software have absolutely determined is due to dust in the optical path. I want to clean the interior. The interior is not air tight..there are ventilation holes and the sliding tray where you put negatives is a big entrance for dust. The problem is....there are no visible screws or any indication of how the top and bottom shells come off. I even looked under the springy feet, thinking there were hidden screws, but no, there are not. So, does anyone know how to remove the case from this scanner? jonathan_bourla1
Hello. I have a different Microtek scanner from yours, but understand they are all built along the same lines. If you look at the plastic frame surrounding the glass, you will see a hole in the centre of the rear edge. By gently inserting a pencil or pen down this hole, you can release the whole frame containing the glass, and gain access to the scanner's interior for cleaning. Hope that helps. Regards, Jonathan.
