Classic Manual Camera Weekend, April 8

Recommended Posts

To shamelessly plagiarize Mike Gammill: In some parts of the world it is already Friday, April 8 so let's get started on our weekend thread.
.
I have places to go, people to see, and I wanted to get these in early. As you may recall, I'm learning my way around the Canon P and Canon 50mm f1.8 black barrel and TMax 400. These shots of the Mission Tumacacori near Tubac, Arizona. More to follow of this site and the "White Dove of the Desert" in the coming weeks.
.
#1: Tumacacori Mission
.

.
#2: Water Fountain
.

.
#3: Cross
.

One of the fun bits here is that I'm using a "Gold Crest" (no model #) Japanese light meter (pic below). This is one of those odd bits you get when you buy a passel of cameras, and a meter happens to come with it. I tested it against my Nikon FE / FM / F3 models, and darned if it isn't right on the money every time. I'm pretty pleased with the way it works in the field, too. The exposures above were pretty tough, and this little old unit nailed them.

With his latest posting, Brad has taken us over to "The Dark Side". . . . . LIGHT METER PORN ! !
I like it !
I have one of these Gossen Pilot meters in each of my CMC kits, plus another in the seldom used 4x5 case to back up the Weston 5. Even the RB67 rigs have one!
Excellent working meters are never over $20 on Ebay and the size is perfect for the small soft cases I prefer to work with in the field vrs the hard plastic pistol cases used for transport.
Think about getting one if your CMC does not have a meter... remember, no batteries required (selenium celled).
Hello again. Three for the forum. The first two were taken with the Vito II / Pilot combo from the previous "Porn" posting, the last with an Agfa Record 3 while on a Hot Rod ride to the North end of the Island (Oahu) to see the big surf waves. UFX 400 film and Obsidian Aqua & V600 scans.

Hello again. Thank's Brad. There are literally hundreds of the Lilly plants visible during my daily walk-about, but finding one with just the right growth in both the leaves and the flowers and the lighting to get my interest is the challenge. When I return here for winter 16-17, I plan to bring the RB-67's and their tripods over and REALLY get to work on the Lilly's. Aloha, Bill

Here's the first shot with my Agfa Clack that seemed worth a print in the wet darkroom:

Agfa Clack with attached Yellow-filter, Rollei RPX100 developed in Xtol 1+2,
printed on old stock Kodak Polymax II RC-paper
Got some extra-sharpening from flickr, but the neg is looking fairly sharp for a simple box-camera.

Hello again everyone. I wish it was the Hotrod morphed ! I started around the block on sunday for the walk-about and it was just parked there. Ton's of car also, as the day was super and the beach crowd was out. I did show my brother the picture and all he said was "lots of money..no soul". Yep, he is a Harley snob, thru and thru. Aloha, Bill
