george_daneliya
Hello!

Currently thinking about giving a CLA to my Rolleiflex. Does someone know a reputable place for doing this in Tokyo?

Generally I'm not really excited of the idea to give my favourite camera to anybody until it works (had already some bad experience with "guru" repairmens). And not really decided to do that yet. But had two cases when the shutter blades become open at the moment I was turning the crank to rewind film for the next shot... Also some additional clicks appeared during the film transportation process.

I don't want to send my camera overseas to be able to control the process (to the extent it's possible...).

Thank you in advance!
david_littleboy__tokyo__ja
The usual suspect to start with is: http://photoguide.jp/txt/Main_Page

I'd go to MAP Camera in Shinjuku and ask them, but I don't know if they'd be helpful.
george_daneliya
Thank you, David. I'm not trying to find someone who can make CLA - that's not a problem at all, but someone reputable.
sumo_kun
Your 2 real choices in Tokyo are Hayata Camera and Kanto Camera Service. Both are very well regarded by the Japanese for repairing most cameras. But both are VERY expensive, like 6man yen (maybe more) expensive (about USD $650!). You will be assured of absolutely top work though. They both "specialise" in Leica and Rollei. I say "specialise" because they aren't the official repair places but they mainly repair (and love) Leicas and Rolleis... basically anything German and mechanical ;)
I have never used any of them but from the various stories and recommendations from friends, I am sure they both do good work. On top of that, I am pretty sure those 2 companies dominate the camera repair scene in Japan.
Good luck!
george_daneliya
Thank you Chuk! I will try to contact them. USD 650 is, of course, a "bit" expensive for CLAding a Rolliflex 2.8E... Maybe, only checking of the lenses calibration, and lubricating of the film transportation system will cost less.

Regards,
Georgy
