chris_eve
I'm familiar with the concept of intermittent agitation for "conventional" b&w film providing increased acutance (edge effect), and I've processed my own C41, colour and b&w, for years in an old Jobo rotary ... my question is, if one processes C41 film by the "so many inversions every so many seconds" procedure, rather than by continuous agitiation, is there any noticable difference? I suspect that the relatively short dev times for C41 would probably minimise the effect, but wondered if anyone had done any comparasions. evan_parker
By what I know from people who have developed XP2 Super at home with Ilford's kit versus at a lab, the lab development offers slightly less acutance because of continuous, versus intermittent agitation which the person using the at-home kit used (which tends to foster edge effects, if I remember correctly).
