g_hardy
I need to purchase a flexible chromakey green screen over 5' x 7'. I am an educator at an elementary school and would like to create a multimedia station. Who makes these larger screens? Any education prices available? Thanks. barry schmetter
Try this. Remember, you need to evenly light the backdrop for good results.

beerbrain_ronny_perry
Here are 2 more sources, one is Mole Richardson, the link is to there web store, they have it all, also the other link has many choices.Usually "Green Screen " refers to a specific green like ultimatte, and chroma key is more generic, several tints of green or basically any color will key,on chroma key system, but ultimatte is a specific frequency/color... just mentioning this in case you have a ultimatte box, and try using a chroma key green, and not a ultimatte green,, it will fringe all over the place..Light the screen even, move the talent away from the screen to miminize the reflected green screenlight spill off the green screen, onto the talent , the talent/object can be lit uneven or even, backlight the talent with CTO or straw gel if using blue screen, or if using green screen a light magenta backlight will kill most of the fringing, if using a chroma key system, ultimatte is cleaner, so dont worry. http://www.studiodepot.com/store/index.cgi?cmd=search&value=chroma+key&field=name&x=11&y=9 http://www.ultimatte.com/basics.html http://www.rosco.com/ http://www.mole.com/
steve_voeller
An alternative to buying a green screen, which is fairly expensive and fragile in the hands of a fourth-grader, you could try a roll of seamless paper...several brands have chroma key colors available. Green or blue might work fine for your needs---avoid the red, it is for certain special effects work. One advantage of paper is that if you decide you want to key an effect that includes your students' feet, you can just roll out the paper onto the floor. Price: around $35. Buy at a professional camera store, or some theatrical supply houses.

jack_m
EEFX.com manufactures custom chroma key products. I found them first through eBay where they had some auctions for low starting bids. They have a really good explanation of their products. It is some really good quality chromakey fabric.

ebay store: Chroma Key Ebay Store

their website: www.eefx.com - custom chroma key supplies and green screen

john_whitney1
eefx is no longer selling the foam backdrops. Foam backdrops are better then any fabric or muslin backdrop out there. They are easier to use (absorbs the light so you don't get the ugly green glow or contamination) that is all too prevalent with fabric. They don't wrinkle like fabric. They are thick so they can easily be used as a green screen floor. The place you can get the foam now is at chroma-key.com Make sure you go the foam-backed section. Fabric really sucks for a floor - I've had people trip on the fabric. The fabric bunches up on the floor too - so you end up keying out the person's foot because the green fabric bunched up by their shoe!
