"Chinese Leica" (Was: New R9 Made In Germany or Portugal?)

Those who sneer at the possibility of Leicas made in China, probably

I thought spme of the Leica accessories were being made in China.

Not surprising, given the close economic ties between the People's Republic and the USSR during much of the 1950s.

Did they have 3 or 5 year warranties in Moscow and Peking??

A large amount of Hermes (Leica's parent company)products are made in

China and sold here at exorbitant prices. Like a leather covered

garden shears for $650 and up, depending on the type of leather.
