sami_palta1
Have a Metz 58AF and Canon 580 EFII to use with 5dII
Using mostly Metz for Master unit as it has another small flash under main which is good for portrait and face and 580 EFII as slave.

When use this two flashes in pair, having shadow. So want to buy a 3rd one to use cross type to eliminate shadows. A cheapish speedlight with slave and E-TTL function. Any advice? Yongnuo 600 series fit ?

When I use all this 3 flashes together, do you think I will need trigger? If yes what do you recommend?

thank you
rodeo_joe1
Sami, more lights won't get rid of existing shadows, they'll only fill them and probably create more shadows of their own. You need to master soft light by using a reflector or diffuser with your existing light. If you can't get decent basic lighting with two speedlights, adding another is only going to complicate matters and make things worse.

First thing is to get your speedlights off the camera. Both of them, not just one. On camera flash is OK for a bit of fill, but for a key light it's the worst possible place to have it. Look into umbrellas or softboxes to soften your lighting as a major step to making shadows less harsh and visible.

Try a basic setup of Key light in a softbox or umbrella from camera left or right and slightly above the subject. Subject to light distance no more than 1.5 metres. Second light as kicker or hairlight from subject rear skimming the subject and aimed at a frontal white reflector. This is a simple two light + reflector setup that does almost everything required of a portrait or still life. If you can still see hard shadows, then your softbox or umbrella isn't close enough or big enough.
