cgo
Just out of interest ... There may be people out there who already own an EOS camera who will buy the 300D kit with the EF-S lens and may be tempted to try the lens on there other body. Is there a possibility of damage. jespdj
This was discussed in previous posts here - the EF-S lens will not fit on cameras that have only the standard EF mount, to prevent you from damaging the camera. The EF-S lens fits only on the 300D (and ofcourse the 300D can also take standard EF lenses).
See this post; it shows an image of the EF and EF-S mounts.
regards

ron c sunshine coast, qld,a
I did some measurements on some good cross sectional drawings i found of the EF-s 18-55.Even if it was changed so it could be mounted on a normal eos,it is too long by about 4-5.5mm depending on which other model eos body you wanted to try it on
